Cops uncover office assistant’s fake robbery story in Noida, nab him for 6L theft
Gurgaon: An office assistant of a steel merchant in Sector 19 was arrested for stealing Rs 6 lakh from his employer and misleading cops with a fake robbery story. On Saturday evening, Tushar Jindal, a steel merchant from Sector 19 in Faridabad, registered a complaint with police stating that unknown persons kidnapped his employee, Guddu, while he was bringing Rs 6 lakh cash from home to his shop on Saturday and robbed the amount at gunpoint.
A case was registered under sections 311 (robbery or dacoity, with attempt to cause death or grievous hurt), 309 (4) (punishment for robbery), and 140 (3) (kidnapping or abducting with intent secretly and wrongfully to confine a person) of the BNS. Crime branch sleuths took over the investigation. "During the questioning, Guddu confessed that he stole the cash and concocted a robbery story to fool his employer. On his confession, we recovered Rs 6 lakh cash from his house in Bhud Colony in Faridabad on Sunday. The accused will be produced before the court for judicial remand on Monday," a police spokesperson said.
